What are the factors that affect the service life of the impact crusher hammer

As an ordinary crusher, the Impact Crusher has a poor working environment, severe wear and tear on vulnerable parts, and often encounters various faults. The plate hammer of the impact crusher rotates at high speed with the rotor, hitting the broken material, causing it to collide and wear, making it very easy to wear. The factors that affect the service life of the plate hammer include: material of the plate hammer, manufacturing quality, properties of the damaged material, circumferential speed of the rotor, structure of the plate hammer, and output.

1. Material of plate hammer

The impact crusher is mainly made of wear-resistant materials, such as high manganese steel and chromium alloy steel. Due to the different levels of heat treatment technology among manufacturers, their mechanical properties also vary greatly, and the service life of plate hammers also varies greatly.

2. Manufacturing quality of plate hammer

The accuracy of weight should be strictly ensured during the manufacturing process of the plate hammer. The weight difference shall not exceed 0.5kg. After installing the plate hammer on the rotor, a static balance test should be conducted, and it is required that when the rotor stops rotating, it should not be retracted by 1/10 of a circle at any position.

3. Structure and fixing method of plate hammer

The structure and fixing method of the plate hammer can also affect its lifespan. At present, the plate hammer of most impact crushers is fixed with countersunk screws. This fixing method has a simple structure, convenient disassembly and assembly, and does not require the rotor to be lifted from the body during replacement. To overcome this disadvantage, the plate hammer is more firmly fixed, but the rear groove of the plate hammer needs to be machined.

4. Rotor circumferential speed

The rotor of the impact crusher has a high linear speed. The rotor is equipped with 3-6 pieces and a maximum of 8-10 plate hammers. The time interval between the rotation of the front and rear hammers is only a few tenths of a second. In such a short period of time, only a few materials can enter the impact area as a whole, and most materials (especially large materials) only enter the impact area at one end, so the plate hammer will not hit the center of gravity of the plate hammer.
